We're seeking a Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to serve as the primary owner of key client relationships from implementation through long-term account management, retention, and growth. This highly visible role combines client leadership, implementation management, operational oversight, and strategic consulting to help clients achieve measurable results while driving organizational success.

What You'll Do

As a Strategic Account Manager, you'll act as both a trusted advisor and implementation leader, ensuring clients receive exceptional service throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own and manage strategic client relationships from implementation through ongoing account management and growth.
  • Lead client implementations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Build trusted partnerships with executive-level stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact for strategic discussions and escalations.
  • Analyze client performance, operational metrics, and account health to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and improve outcomes.
  • Present data-driven insights, business reviews, and strategic recommendations to senior leaders and decision-makers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Operations, IT, Product, Finance, Sales, and other stakeholders to drive successful client outcomes.
  • Manage issue resolution and escalations, ensuring timely communication and effective corrective action plans.
  • Oversee implementation scope, change requests, timelines, and project milestones.
  • Develop and deliver client training, readiness planning, and post-launch support.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion, process improvements, and operational optimization.
  • Support renewal, retention, and business development initiatives through strategic account planning and client advocacy.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in Strategic Account Management, Client Success, Relationship Management, Implementation Management, Project Management, or a related client-facing role.
  • Experience managing medium-to-large client portfolios and multiple concurrent implementations.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence Director-level, VP-level, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience translating complex data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and executive-level relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and navigating complex organizational environments.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience within healthcare, managed care, healthcare technology, eligibility services, Medicaid, Medicare, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or Strategic Account Management (SAM) certification are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20–30% as needed.

Our Massachusetts based annual salary for this role ranges from $100,000-$150,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation which includes base salary, benefits and other options.
